We are proud of our Great Pyrenees dogs, some of which are pictured above. The breed was developed in Europe to produce livestock guardians, and is classified in the Working Group of the American Kennel Club. Pyrs are large hardy dogs that are gentle with people and livestock, but very protective of their territory. They have soft but heavy coats that can be all white, or include markings. Although all the dogs shown above happen to be all-white, we also have dogs in our kennel with dark badger-markings, light badger markings, and unusual all-tan "golden" markings. Depending on the litter, there may be puppies with various of these markings. Our Pyrs are affectionate and trusted companions, solid livestock guardians, and enthusiastic competitors in the show ring.
We are very attentive to the health of our dogs, and to breeding even better dogs over time. All of the breeding stock receive OFA hip, elbow, and patella exams and genetic testing. We have completed AKC CHIC certification for many of our dogs, which means that the results from all suggested health screenings have been submitted to the AKC.
All of our dogs are AKC registered and have been shown in AKC conformation matches. Currently, we enjoy the companionship of two AKC Champions and one AKC Grand Champion along with others who are working toward these honors. Some of our current Intuition Farm® dogs are shown at the top of this page (males are above, females are below).
